Day 3 – The D’Orsay

Still having a bitch of a time getting over jet lag. Woke up at 5:45 which while unusually early for me was still long enough shut-eye that I expected to be functional for the rest of the day without having that too-early crash.

Anyway, started off the morning with the breakfast of champions we’ve come up with: a fresh out of the oven loaf of French bread and orange juice and eat it on the way to the Metro with destination of the Musee d’Orsay, home of a vast number of impressionist paintings. Spent a fair number of hours perusing the great works then decided for a walk through the Parisian streets and the Quai du Seine, the riverside walk along the Seine, towards the Eiffel Tower. We were both dog tired but eventually made it there to snap a couple pics and then on for the last destination point for the day: the Notre Dame cathedral.

We battled dense throngs to get into the building then did what all other tourists do inside this arguably most famous of churches: walk around aimlessly and take pictures.

The day was a wrap once we made it back to our little nook of Paris. Had Chinese takeout again which was delicious. We ate like pigs because we hadn’t had lunch and had done a lot of exercise. And no sooner than my last bite and I was sound asleep at around 8 PM.
